No admission after 10:30 PM.
Admissions Rules
- No entry or re-entry after 10:30 p.m. (22:30).
- Backpacks, sacks, coolers, and large tote bags are not permitted on the fairgrounds.
- All purses, diaper bags, strollers, and similar items are subject to inspection. Alcohol is not permitted to be brought onto the grounds.
- Admission will be refused to anyone who appears to be intoxicated.
- Intoxicated, disorderly, or disruptive patrons may be removed from the grounds by security or police.
- Fighting or violent behaviour will result in immediate expulsion without refund. Admission wristbands will be removed, and re-entry will not be permitted.
- Minors found consuming or possessing alcohol will be immediately expelled and will not be permitted to re-enter.
- The Shawville Fair maintains zero tolerance for disrespectful, abusive, threatening, or destructive behaviour toward people, animals, or property.
- By entering the fairgrounds, all guests agree to comply with these rules and with the directions of fair staff, PAS Directors, security personnel, and law enforcement.
Fairgrounds Policy – Service Dogs Only
Only certified service dogs are permitted on the fairgrounds. However, please note that in some cases, even a service dog may not be permitted due to safety and environmental concerns:
- The fair draws large crowds, and not all guests — especially children — are comfortable around dogs.
- There are hundreds of large animals, including cattle and horses, on-site that may not respond well to dogs.
- Our Junior Farmer Program includes youth exhibiting livestock, and those animals may react unpredictably around dogs.
- Dogs are not allowed in buildings or barns for the safety of guests, exhibitors, animals, and dog owners.
- The fair environment includes significant noise and crowds, which may cause distress or unpredictable behavior in animals.
- There is no designated relief area for dogs within the fairgrounds.
- Any issues involving dogs may result in immediate removal from the grounds without refund or appeal.
An agricultural fair is a high-risk and unpredictable environment for dogs and, for their safety and the safety of others, is not an ideal setting.
